Work has commenced on the restoration of the Acomb War Memorial Book of Remembrance to clean and re-carve the names of the local soldiers who fought and died in the First and Second World Wars.

The commencing of the project is in line with YCT’s promise to have the book fully restored by November 11th 2018, the centenary anniversary of the armistice agreement that signaled the ceasefire which ended the conflict of First World War in 1918.

Carver Kibby Schaefer is dedicating numerous hours to the cleaning of the Acomb War Memorial book, carefully marking out each individual letter in order to accurately restore each of the honoured names back to their original, clearly visible state.
