Richard Watson

Richard Watson is a Solicitor and Director of Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors LLP with which he has been associated for forty years.  He specialises in Charity Law, Housing Law, Contested Probate and Wills and Trusts.  He was appointed an Assistant Coroner for the North Yorkshire Eastern Area in 2005.  He served as a member of the Ryedale District and City of York Councils for twenty-one years and, from 2003 – 2011, chaired the CYC Main Planning Committee, during which time he was concerned with developments such as the University of York’s Campus East, CYC’s West Offices and the early stages of both Hungate and the Terry’s Redevelopment.  He served as Sheriff in 2010 – 2011 and was appointed Honorary Alderman by CYC in 2011.  He is a member of the University Court and a Trustee of York Archaeological Trust Ltd.
