Deian Tecwyn was educated in his homeland of Wales and at Jesus College, Oxford before qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1977. He retired as a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2012 after spending the majority of his career with that firm or its predecessors, working in London, Nairobi, Leeds and London again.  His formative years were spent in auditing and accounting, and the latter part of his career in leadership roles in the firm.

Since 1999, he has held a number of non-executive roles at the University of York, including that of Pro Chancellor and as a member of Council. He currently chairs the University’s audit committee. He has lived in Yorkshire for over 30 years, moving to Fulford in 2013. His interests include travelling, mathematics,  music and sport – including, sadly, fervent support for York City Football Club.
