ASKHAM BOG WALKING TOUR

June 7 @ 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm

£12

Askham Bog, one of the most important nature reserves in northern England, is administered by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. The Trust was established to take ownership of the site in 1946 as a gift from Sir Francis Terry and Arnold Rowntree, and the staff and pupils of Bootham School played a significant part in development. We will look at the history of the bog since the last ice-age, and at the birds and plants that live there now. The visit will be led by Sir John Lawton, Vice President of the RSPB and President of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

The ticket price includes a donation to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

Askham Bog lies just over two miles SW of the Minster, well within the city boundary, just to the north of the A64. YO23 3QX.
