Sustaining Objects: Conservation Skills for the 21st Century
Emily Williams is Associate Professor for Archaeological Conservation at Durham University where she directs the Masters program in the Conservation of Archaeological and Museum Objects. Prior to coming to Durham, she was the Senior Conservator in Archaeological Conservation at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, VA, where her work included curating a major exhibit on conservation. She has worked in museums and on sites in Australia, Belgium, Bermuda, Egypt, England, Iraq, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey. She is a Fellow of the International Institute of Conservation and of the American Institute for Conservation, holds an MA from Durham University and a PhD from Leicester University. She is passionate about conservation outreach and about exploring the ways in which people and objects connect and how each sustains the other.

The evening starts at 6.30pm with drinks; the YCCC AGM (which guests are welcome to sit in for) starts at 7.30pm, with the lecture starting at 8pm and running through, with Q&As, to 9.15pm (all times are approximate).
