St Helen’s Churchyard Davygate

In collaboration with the upcoming Bloom festival due to take place in July 2018, and celebrating 250 years of the Ancient Society of York Florists, York Civic Trust’s Verna Campbell worked with organiser Lotte Inch and designer Richard Mackness (Urbis) to create a semi-permanent display on the site, which is currently in development.

Bespoke orbital planters have been funded by the City Enhancement Programme to turn the bare space into a fitting part of the Bloom! festival. The pieces will be installed in time for the Festival and will replace the diseased peace tree, which the Church has recently agreed to remove for health and safety reasons.
