Sue Fisher has over 20 years of experience of fundraising in senior roles across different sectors.

She became Director of Development at Ampleforth in May 2016.  Prior to this she was Director of Development for the Science Museum Group where she has successfully led a number of capital campaigns, developed new income streams, increasing annual income by over 500% and was part of the senior team that repositioned the Science Museum to be the world’s leading science museum.

At Ampleforth Sue is a member of the Procurator’s senior team with responsibility for securing income from philanthropic and commercial sources, to support the delivery of the site’s 20 year master plan.  She works with Ampleforth Society, the body that encompasses Ampleforth Alumni and the wider Ampleforth family of supporters and friends.

She has particular expertise in developing and delivering £multi-million capital campaigns, securing income from funders such as the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Sue has worked with a number of high profile charities across a range of social and cultural issues and until recently was a Trustee of Cape Farewell, an organization that pioneers a cultural response to climate change.  She is currently a Trustee of York Civic Trust and York Museums Trust.
