Continuing our Education Committee’s sequence of public speaking competitions for school children on themes from York and its history, the latest competition was held in July at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall.  St Wilfrid’s RC Primary School in Monkgate won the event for the third year in succession with a stunning and engaging display of rhetoric and learning with their chosen subject: York Minster is world famous but is it the lesser known buildings that tell York’s story?    They were warmly applauded.
