The Board of Trustees wish to recruit new trustees along with a new Chair. Our current Chair of Trustees, Stephen Lusty plans to step down from the role in October 2024 after a five-year tenure. During his period in office, Stephen has successfully steered York Civic Trust through some of the most turbulent times in the organisation’s history.
The Chair of the Board leads the Trustees in setting the strategy for the organisation, working closely with our Chief Executive, Andrew Morrison in all aspects of the Civic Trust’s work, including the running of our Georgian town house museum, Fairfax House.
It’s an exciting time to join the Board or to take over from Stephen Lusty as Chair. The York city region will be impacted by the development of York Central; the Coney Street Riverside development; the election of a Mayor for York and North Yorkshire and the adoption of the city’s first Local Development Plan since 1956.

If you wish to apply to be our next Chair of Trustees or apply to be a trustee, please contact our Chief Executive, Andrew Morrison at info@yorkcivictrust.co.uk. The deadline for expressions of interest in the roles is 16th February 2024.
