York Civic Trust has funded and managed the restoration of this prominent set of iron gates to the York Walls ramparts on Bishopgate Street.

Work to put the gates into place.

Dave Barnes has worked to make repairs to the gates in line with City of York approved conservation practices, where the gates had eroded and were in danger of collapse. The gates will be painted in traditional black, once the July rain stops.

A second set of railings closer to Prices Lane have now been removed for similar repairs.
