In collaboration with the Bloom festival , and celebrating 250 years of the Ancient Society of York Florists, York Civic Trust’s Verna Campbell worked with organiser Lotte Inch and designer Richard Mackness (Urbis) to create a semi-permanent display on the site, which was recently installed.

The bespoke orbital planters also double as seaters and have been funded by the City Enhancement Programme to turn the bare space into a fitting part of the Bloom! festival.

To coincide with the festival, York Civic Trust will unveil two blue plaques on Saturday 7 July to York horticulturalists.
