run for the benefit of all who live in,
work in, or visit York. The Civic Trust’s
vision is ‘promoting heritage, shaping tomorrow’.

cities across the world – climate change,
population growth, housing, transport and
economic expansion. York Civic Trust runs a
programme of activities for members and the
public that explore both the past and the
future of the city. Our museum at Fairfax House
is an immersive exploration of 18th century life.
