2.00pm, Wednesday 8 October
Meeting point: West Door, York Minster
The Rowntree society is celebrating the 100 years since Joseph Rowntree died. They have devised a series of walks around the city and invited us to participate in the one in the city centre. This will touch on places which were connected to Joseph Rowntree, his life and work and the impact he made on the city. This walk takes you around some of the hidden corners of Rowntree history in central York. It gives a sense of the family’s origins and business interests as well as their main philanthropic concerns.
