King’s Manor, Exhibition Square, YO1 7EP

Professor Kate Giles is a buildings archaeologist at the University of York, with a background in art history. She is especially interested in communal buildings of the medieval and modern periods and how we can encourage people to visit and care for them.

She has agreed to show York Civic Trust members around the Grade I listed King’s Manor (currently part of the University of York) and tell us about some of the building’s rich history.

The visit will last about 1 hour and we will meet at the King’s Manor main entrance, under the coat of arms.
