York Civic Trust’s “Our Place – Acomb and Westfield” is a new heritage outreach project inviting residents to explore, celebrate, and protect the heritage that makes their neighbourhoods unique. During 2026 we are working with local residents, to uncover hidden gems, local memories, and untold stories – helping to build a stronger sense of place and pride across the community.
The project aims to engage the community in identifying, valuing, and preserving the local heritage of Acomb and Westfield – strengthening social connections and fostering pride in the area’s past, present, and future.
There are many ways to engage:
- Drop in to our display at Acomb Explore Centre
- Attend one of our free events
- Share your thoughts about Acomb’s heritage
