Just 3 weeks on from York Civic Trust announcing their plans to proceed with restoration work on the Victoria Bar plaque, the iconic red plaque, which honours the 170 year old commissioning of the bar, has been fully restored to perfect reading order, and finished with a well-contrasting red and gold paint coating.
The plaque can be found hung above the centre archway over Victoria Street as it crosses under the city’s southern bar walls, with the new paint coating able to withstand “extreme weather conditions” for several decades to come.
