This talk will explore surprising developments in York’s Georgian buildings including the role of fire precautions in its development. Arguably starting with The Red House in 1680, this fashionable architectural style known for its proportions and balance, lasted for 140 years.
Speaker Peter Brown, MBE, FSA, formerly worked for the National Trust and was the first Director of Fairfax House from 1984, and afterwards the Director of York Civic Trust, before his retirement in 2015.
