A public preview evening of “The Streets of York: Four Centuries of Change” an exciting exhibition of artwork and photographic images, capturing the changing streetscapes of our historic city through the last four centuries.
The book is a collaboration between Sir Ron Cooke, Darrell Buttery, Christine Shepherd and Stephen Lewis. The wonderful paintings, drawings and photographs have been organised into specific streets and locations in the city centre, and placed alongside contemporary photographs of the same locations. We believe this exhibition allows the viewer a unique opportunity to judge the impact on York’s streetscape of changes in our society and lifestyles, from the 18th century to date.
Tickets £12 payable on the door, a copy of the book will be available on the evening to purchase at a special price of £20.
The exhibition is in its final 2 weeks, open to the public Monday – Friday 2.30pm – 4.30pm until the 22nd November.
