Behind the Scenes at the Grand Opera House

This visit was hugely over-subscribed when it appeared in our winter programme, so we offer it again so that more members can experience a fascinating backstage tour of the building now known as the Grand Opera House, although its original purpose was very different.  Theatre staff will introduce us to the history of the building and demonstrate some of the traditional and more up-to-date mechanisms required when staging a live performance.  Please note that the backstage area of this historic building involves the negotiation of a number of steep and narrow staircases.  Early booking is strongly recommended.
