Following Peter Brown’s fascinating lecture on Wentworth Woodhouse and its eighteenth-century contents, we are taking the bold step of leaving York and arranging a private visit to the house. Peter has kindly agreed to accompany the group so we shall have the benefit of his knowledge and recent research findings to enlighten us.
We shall travel by coach in a group of up to 40 for an early afternoon tour of the splendid state rooms. There is also a possibility of viewing some of the work in progress on the major restoration which is currently underway.
There will then be a full afternoon tea provided in the newly refurbished tearoom. We also hope to have access to the magnificent Rockingham Monument by John Carr in the grounds.
Return to York will be in the early evening Please wear stout footwear suitable for outdoor walking.
Early booking recommended for this very special event.
Coach departs from Memorial Gardens, Leeman Road, YO1 6FZ at 12.30pm prompt.
