Wednesday 5 December (7.30pm – 9.30pm)
Venue: Knavesmire Lodge is at 304 Tadcaster Road. Buses 4,12,13 & 843 stop at Chalfonts opposite
By kind permission of Past-President, Darrell Buttery, we will gather for a festive social event at Knavesmire Lodge.
The evening begins with a talk by guest speaker, Bob Anderton, a Civic Trust member of long-standing, who will speak to us about his collection of eighteenth and nineteenth century pistols. Generally associated in the modern mind with duellists or highwaymen, the pistol has a significant role to play in the development of modern weaponry.
Bob has promised to bring some items from his fascinating collection for us to see (but not to fire!) After the talk there will be ample time to mingle with friends old and new over mulled wine and mince pies, and to do some timely Christmas shopping at the antiques stall. All the profits will be donated to the St Lawrence’s Church Fund, so please remember to bring your cheque book.
Tickets £15 per person including refreshments.
Tickets are non-refundable
