Heritage Open Day Event Inspirational Women of York

SUNDAY 9 SEPTEMBER (2.30pm – 4.00pm) 

This walk is being offered free to all as York Civic Trust’s contribution to the Heritage Open Days Programme and is therefore being advertised nationally.

In this centenary year of women’s Suffrage, join Sarah Jackson from Yorktour to hear about the significant women of York and their impact on the city’s culture and heritage. From an Abbess to an angel, an author to an anchorite, we will spend one and a half hours following in their footsteps. The starting point is Micklegate Bar and from there we will proceed at a leisurely pace into the city centre and finish in The Shambles.
