An Accessible Tour of Micklegate
This walking tour of Micklegate is led by MA student Emma Knutzen, whose research looks at York’s public and social history. As part of her degree, she is trialling a new type of accessible tour which takes place both in-person and online. Available with subtitles and BSL, this is the York Civic Trust’s first accessible walking tour. Explore Micklegate’s hidden past, from medieval splendour to industrial change. Discover stories of royalty, rebellion, and transformation that have shaped this ancient route from gate to river.
